At TruStop Inc., we were contracted by a funeral customer looking to fabricate a new crematory pressure vessel. With the customer’s 2D CAD drawings in hand, we began our material selection and planning for the production process. The final product would need to hold 175 psi at a 400°F operating temperature and built to customer specifications. Features of the customer’s design included 28″ leg supports, heating coils, nozzles and couplings, and a racking system.
Through the application of cutting-edge CNC machining and reliable design strategies we were able to complete the vessel in only 8 weeks. Type 304 stainless steel sections were cut and assembled to form the vessel, providing enough strength to satisfy the pressure requirement and a safety factor. After assembly, the vessel was inspected and received certification for ASME U-Stamp Section 1 compliance prior to being painted. Final dimensions for the vessel were 24″ in diameter and 60″ in height.
